Thai Vietjet To Increase Flights To Phuket by Over 60% Amid Tourism Boost

Thai Vietjet has unveiled plans to increase its weekly flights to and from Phuket by 61% to supercharge the tourism sector. Set to launch in October 2023, this expansion is a clear response to the directives from the meeting between Thailand’s Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, and the Thai Airlines Association.
Woranate Laprabang, the dynamic Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, shed light on this decision. He mentioned,

“Being intrinsically Thai and a proud founding member of the Thai Airline Association, it was an honor to engage in discussions with our Prime Minister. It’s a well-known fact that tourism is the linchpin of Thailand’s economic prosperity. Thus, we bear a collective responsibility to continuously evolve and bolster policies which rejuvenate our tourism industry. Initiatives like the free-visa policy for powerhouse markets such as China and India are steps in the right direction.”

He further highlighted Thai Vietjet’s proactive approach,

“In keeping with these progressive policies, we’re gearing up to increase our weekly flights to Phuket from the current 126 to 204. Our pledge to the resilient travel industry echoes our  dedication to its resurgence and lasting viability.”

From October 2023 onwards, travelers can anticipate Thai Vietjet operating 204 weekly flights to/from the Phuket International Airport. These flights will connect Phuket with key domestic cities, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. Moreover, specific flights will be available four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, to provide enhanced flexibility to its customers.

Alongside the connections between Phuket and Ho Chi Minh, the airline is poised to unveil its extended international services. Travelers can eagerly await increased connectivity to China, India, South East Asia, and possibly Australia.
