Thailand Hopes To Attract at least 10,000 Wealthy Foreigners To Its Elite Card Program.

As of October 11, There are now around 20,200 Thailand Elite Card users in the country, and the number is expected to increase.

Apichai Chatchalermkit, acting president of Thailand Privilege Card Co Ltd. which manages the Thailand Elite Visa Program, told the press that the tourism officials would prioritize social responsibility to lure more environmentally conscientious high-net-worth foreigners.

In accordance with the ESG (environment, social, and governance) principle, the organization has formulated initiatives to enhance services and assure sustainable development.

Apichai, who also serves as the deputy governor of the tourism business department of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said that the objective is to strengthen communities and prepare the way for development in accordance with the government’s BCG or bio-circular-green economy model.

He added that the company has spent a portion of its income from the sale of membership cards in local tourism and social development organizations as part of this initiative.

Apichai said “Our members will appreciate and realize that their vacation to Thailand is really valuable.”, adding that each Elite Card user is anticipated to earn at least 100,000 baht in income during their stay in Thailand.

Thailand has always been a popular destination for foreign visitors.  According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, around 5.6 million international tourists visited Thailand from January 1 to September 30, 2022, and produced 200 billion baht in tourism income.
