The Thailand Pass website has been updated with new information. The update would enable applicants to arrive on a different day from the date granted in their Thailand Pass application as long as it is not more than 7 days from the original date.

Suppose you are traveling to Thailand at the time. In that case, everyone, including Thai nationals, must apply for a Thailand Pass regardless of whether they are entering via the Test & Go, Sandbox, or Alternative Quarantine.  The announcement is as follows.

“Applicants may use their authorized Thailand Pass QR Code to visit Thailand on a different arrival date if the new date of arrival is within 7 days from the QR Code’s arrival date. The update will take effect on April 18.

Travelers will require to rebook hotels and hotel van transfers, as well as update insurance policy dates. There’s no need to upload these on the Thailand Pass website. Simply show the documents at check-in and arrival to health officials.”

There are rumors that more changes are on the way which will likely be announced in May, which would further untangle the complicated layers of paperwork and entry limitations. The seemed like a good idea at the time, immigration and arrival authorities are figuring out how an on-arrival ATK test would really work and how to deal with arrivals awaiting their test, mainly if numerous foreign flights arrive simultaneously.

Tourism authorities said last week that they want to make a proposal to scrap the country’s Test & Go entry system at the CCSA’s next meeting.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said that if the proposed changes are approved, travelers can now enter Thailand using just vaccination passports starting May 1.

“There’s no need to wait 3 to 5 days for the Thailand Pass online registration system to accept their papers.”

PCR testing on arrival for international travelers is scheduled to be phased out in favor of antigen tests at the airport under the proposed plan. The suggestions have not yet been debated and must be accepted by the CCSA and the cabinet before it takes effect.
