Enjoying an Exceptional Golf Experience in Thailand

There are many activities through which you can enjoy all that Thailand has to offer. There are cooking classes, martial arts practice, beaching, and many others.

For some, a holiday in Thailand will never be complete without the requisite golf game. Golfing is, in fact, one of the top activities that tourists come to Thailand for in addition to going to the beach and enjoying aquatic activities.

Of course, when you do something, you have to make sure that you’re going to enjoy it fully. Here are a few things that you should know about, if you’re trying to enjoy an exceptional game of golf in Phuket, or wherever you may be in Thailand.

Choose Your Season Wisely

Picking the time you visit Thailand is crucial to your enjoyment of a game of golf. There are three seasons in Thailand, namely, the hot, cool and green seasons.

The classification of these seasons should give you a general idea of how the weather is in Thailand during that time. The hot season (March until May), for example, has little to no rainy days, but temperatures can also climb up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cool season (November to February), on the other hand, has temperatures ranging between 62 degrees and 96 degrees Fahrenheit. These are ideal conditions for playing golf; however, it is also the peak season for golfing tourists.

The green season is the rainy season for Thailand. However, there will still be days where you can expect good weather conducive to golfing. There won’t be much tourists around as well.

Let the Caddies Do Their Work

Let’s say you’re an investor looking to invest in Phuket’s property market, and you decide to drop by a course for a game of golf. You probably are thinking that you need some VIP treatment every once in a while, and that’s what you’ll get when you play golf in Thailand.

Unlike in Western countries, caddies in Thailand do practically all of the work for you. All you need to do is just get your game face on and focus on making that correct swing! Yes, the caddies are there to assist you all the way, and they won’t even let you touch the ball.

Here are some of the tasks that only caddies are allowed to do in the golf course:

  • Drive a golf cart
  • Position the ball on the tee
  • Take the ball out of the holes on the way to the next part of the game
  • Hold any drink for you while you take the swing

Truly, golf is indeed the game of kings. When playing golf in Thailand, you will certainly get that kingly treatment that you deserve as an honored guest of the Kingdom.

Don’t Mind the Stray Dog

Thailand is known for its tolerance for stray animals. It’s common to see strays roaming free and even fed by locals. Just like us humans, strays also want some peace and quiet. The golf course gives them that, which is why you should not be surprised if you see a stray dog within the premises.

Golf is one of the top reasons for tourists to visit Thailand. It can be a side trip too, so no matter what your purpose for visiting Thailand is, be sure to drop by the green! Members of Thailand Elite get exclusive perks as well.
