The Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT) is getting ready to hold an event highlighting 12 faith-based travel routes across the country. This effort aims to enhance tourism and raise income by serving travelers interested in religious activities or pursuing a spiritual journey.

TAT’s Governor, Yuthasak Supasorn, cited Ministry of Commerce data showing that spiritual tourism earned 10.8 billion baht in 2019. This underlines the high potential for growth in religion-based tourism. Forecasts hint that the worldwide worth of this industry could triple in the next ten years, increasing from over US$13.7 billion in 2022 to US$40.9 billion by 2033.

Supasorn stressed that the project aims to offer enriching and significant travel experiences. This highlights religious and cultural tourism attractions that show Thailand’s distinct identity.

The event, from June 30 to July 2 at Square B in front of CentralWorld Mall, will display religious temples, cultural heritage sites, and community-focused tourism efforts.

The event will be split into three primary parts. The first will have a simulated zone where visitors can engage in worship and blessings along the 12 spiritual travel routes. The second part will be a marketplace featuring stores and eateries from various Thai regions. Here, visitors can discover and enjoy regional specialties and unique items. The third part will be a stage for performances by famous artists, offering entertainment and cultural experiences.
